Porterfield Baptist Church began as a vision in the heart of Reverend William Worth Williams. It was nurtured in the Concern of the First Baptist Church of Macon, and on September 26, 1954, twenty-one individuals assembled at the Porter Ellis Community Center on Houston Road for the purpose of establishing a mission. The mission was to be known as the Porterfield Baptist Mission. The rest is history.
